Our New Community Orchard

We are delighted to announce that we have planted a new community orchard at the top of the hill behind the bowling club.

There are currently 13 young fruit trees, a mix of apple, pear, plum, damson, quince and cherry.

The trees were sponsored by different families in the local community, each chosen for personal reasons. It was a truly wonderful experience to see so many people come together this winter to plant the new trees.  The trees will benefit wildlife, including birds and bees, and will provide shade in the summer heat.  As they grow they will provide us all with fruit.  Please enjoy the orchard and do give the trees some water if you are passing by on a hot day.
